We want to pay tribute to the women of color and trans survivors of color who have started social movements, who are rarely recognized for the groundbreaking work that they do. Our murals celebrate these beloved sexual assault survivor leaders and are a monumental love letter to all survivors. The murals feature a growing embrace between the survivor, and their younger self. We invite mural participants to write a Survivor Love Letter to their younger self that will be activated through augmented reality when people visit the mural. Comprised of endangered species of local wildflowers that bloom only after forest fires, the mural celebrates how the human body heals from trauma in the same way as the Earth.

The physical mural is a portal to a galaxy where self-love is not only possible, but is the only possible reality. When viewers engage with the mural it will offer an augmented reality phone app designed by award-winning VR company, Emblematic Group. Users can access The app will featured the muralized survivor's love letter and also an entire library of love letters written by survivors all over the world and have the option to contribute their own. Users may also listen to guided meditations geared toward survivors.

This app makes it possible for people to view an animated version of the mural which illustrates the cycle of healing. Users may watch pyrophytic plants bloom from seeds, and burned down trees grow back into a forest.

We activate the site of each mural by bringing programming of AR meditations, live love letter performances featuring local survivors and poets, and letter-writing workshops engaging with the your local community.

In collaboration with the O Positive Festival, we aim to create free pop-up mental health clinics for local survivors at some of the sites we work with.  We aim to have local therapists and mental health practitioners available during our survivor love letter workshops and activations.

Participating survivors will experience our activations as an invitation to build a strong self care plan for themselves in the future. In the past, our activations have engaged hundreds and sparked important conversations and activism surrounding mental health, allyship, and ending rape culture.
