You are not alone. But you are not alright. It’s okay to hurt, to crack, to cry. You don’t have to be perfect. You’ll want to hide it. You’ll feel ashamed. But you don’t have to be. Don’t deny what happened, but don’t let it define you. Recognize how it affected you and accept it. You can’t change what happened, but you can let it change you– for the better.
Be strong. Know empathy. Fight for yourself– as much as you fight for others. Love yourself– as much as you love others.
Because, despite what happened, or rather in spite of what happened, you deserve to be loved.
Especially by yourself.
