Letter From a Husband

Dear Survivor,

I can only image what you have been through. What you have had to suffer through and endure. I wish there was something more I could do to take away the pain of what he did to you.

You’ve been brave. Braver than I could ever know. You’ve told me what happened and how it has impacted you a decade later. I don’t need to tell you how you feel. You have had every right to feel hurt and scared and angry and betrayed. No can tell you how to deal with it. You’ve been through hell and back and you don’t need to justify yourself to anyone.

I just want to remind you that you are not alone. That you are so much more than what has happened to you, than what he tried to take from you.

You are beautiful and smart and funny and strong. Stronger than anyone else I know. What you do everyday for me and for those around you everyday is amazing and inspiring. What happened to you was not your fault, no matter what some people may tell you. I am proud of you and I love you very much. I will always be here for you as I always have been.

You endure. You fight. You survive.

You are a survivor.

You are loved.
